Aluminum-bronze is a type of\u00a0bronze\u00a0in which\u00a0aluminum\u00a0is the main\u00a0alloying\u00a0metal\u00a0added to\u00a0copper, in contrast to standard bronze (copper and tin) or\u00a0brass\u00a0(copper and zinc). Aluminum bronze is the highest strength standard copper based alloy and is used where higher mechanical properties are required. Valves in this special alloy are most valued for their exceptional\u00a0corrosion\u00a0resistance, toughness and strength as compared to other bronze alloys. They are suitable for seawater service and especially good for applications subject to: pitting corrosion, stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue.
